Financing Options
Northwest Fertility Center's Two-for-One Program
To help you better afford needed infertility treatment, Northwest Fertility Center has introduced a new financing option. The new shared-risk program offers you the opportunity to pursue two in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles at a cost that is comparable to one fee-for-service IVF cycle at other local IVF programs.
Here's how it works:
• There are no restrictions to participate in the Two-for-One program.
• If a pregnancy is not achieved on the first attempt, you can try a second IVF cycle at no charge (except the cost of new medications). This represents an average savings of $7,000.
• Program fees may vary slightly based on patient age or other factors such as decreased ovarian reserve or PCOS; however for many patients, the additional first-time costs will fully fund this self insurance.

Background on Shared-Risk Programs
Throughout the country, many different types of shared-risk IVF programs have become popular as an effective way to increase access to needed infertility treatment for the thousands of women and men without insurance or with limited financial resources. The details and costs vary considerably. If couples qualify, they then pay a much greater dollar amount (e.g. $15,000 to $25,000) for up to three IVF attempts. If pregnancy is successful, the clinic will keep the excess money to cover the costs of others without success. So for a couple that conceives on their first try, they have paid at least twice what would have been expended for a single fee-for-service IVF cycle. But should they never achieve a pregnancy, some percentage (50-100%) is refunded. It is important for couples to thoroughly research these Shared Risk Programs as they are complex. Many couples will not "qualify" after necessary appointments and testing are completed. Many significant costs are not covered, especially expensive fertility medication and all IVF prescreening tests. Nevertheless, some couples prefer to utilize these programs because of added peace of mind in light of the unpredictable clinical outcomes associated with IVF.
